One of The Most Significant Festival celebrated over all the world by Muslims is Eid. First one is Eid al-Fitr and second is “Eid ul Adha” or “Bakrid”.
“Eid” or “Eid al-Fitr” is one of the grand, greatest and most famous festival celebrated by Muslims. For marking The Ramzaan’s End, Muslims celebrate it. According to The Muslims Calendar, it is the 9th month, when the New moon is visible, The Eid celebration starts.
The Term “Eid” is an Arabic word that means “Festivity”, whereas, “Fitr” means “Breaking The Fast”. All Muslims celebrate this fest over the entire world. The holy book “Quran” was revealed to “Prophet Muhammad” during The Ramzaan Month.
On the grand occasion of Eid, over the whole world, Muslims do lot preparations. They buy new clothes several sweets to celebrate this fest. Just after the fast of 30 days, when the New moon is seen, the next day is declared as Eid.
On The Eid day, they wake up early in the morning, and then brush up their teeth, after that take a bath and wear the best cloth that they purchase and apply Ittar as well.
“Eid Prayer” or “Namaaz” performed in large and widespread area where all Muslims gather such as in community centres, fields, and especially in Eidgah or Mosque (Masjid). One such large Masjid (Mosque) is Jama Masjid in New Delhi.
For everyone’s peace and prosperity, they offer prayers. After attempting The Namaaz, they go to their friends and relatives houses to wish them Happy Eid or Eid Mubarak. On Eid, people also distribute gifts to each other.
Special dishes such as kheer, biryani, sheer korma and sewai are cooked. Children are the most happiest from all. This day is one of the most exciting and joyful day for them.
Also, the elders to them give money or Eedi (Eid Gifts).
Eid is my favourite festival and Namaaz is its biggest factor. Man has not created the supremacy, but it is created by almighty Allah subhan-waTala.
This has to do with the communal aspects of fasting that shows many of the basic values of The Muslim community, i.e., sympathy, worship, patience, charity, reservations, and many more for the poor.
In addition, it teaches a Muslims for being away from worldly fascination and totally focusing on the God Allah and thanking him for these blessings.
In conclusion, Eid is a festival of love, thanksgiving, compassion and joy, and spreads the message of brotherhood, kindness and sympathy, and gets to celebrate in a very joyous and happier manner.
